Amazon Music
I worked as an associate creative director for Rotation, Amazon Music’s hip-hop subbrand, as a member of their social team.
Content
From rigorously researched deep dives to light hearted conversation starters, I did all the writing and research for Rotation’s social posts. I worked with a strategist to ensure we were starting and joining the right conversations, and then set to work on collecting the necessary materials and developing a look and feel. I’d then pass the direction to our designers and editors, and see the assets through multiple rounds of feedback. My background as a designer and editor allowed me to give detailed and actionable feedback, and to hop into the editing bay myself when necessary.
One of my final assignments for Arts and Entertainment. I created this graphic to promote an event we were holding to advertise our positions. The hiring cycle was about to begin, and as we all planned to vacate our positions, we decided to throw a kind of open house to advertise each position on the team. Under normal circumstances, this would have been an
in-person event, but because the quarter was completely
online, this meeting had to be as well.
This was around the time that the new Animal Crossing game had come out, so this was definitely inspired by that, at least a little. I still haven’t played it, but I remember it being everywhere.
Update (02/22): Finally bought a Switch last June, hit me up for my friend code lmao let's trade fruit.
Interviews
Interviews made up a decent portion of our content. I selected the concepts we’d pitch to the artists, tailoring the list based on their stature, personality and career phase. I also wrote most of the questions, created new content franchises, and generated bespoke concepts when necessary. But my favorite part was leading all of the interviews that occurred at the New York Amazon Music office, often sitting through pre-release playback sessions and getting to ask the artists about their process.
