Edited For Brevity is a publication & platform focused on curating conversation and creating community around music.'

It started as a newsletter; a collection of essays on whatever I felt like talking about at the time, so mainly hip-hop, and larger trends across the industry. Realizing quickly that I didn't want an audience, but a community of music enthusiasts, I decided to explore these stories in-person. We made our foray into a live events last May, and have since hosted live interviews with industry professionals, put on interactive listening parties celebrating historic albums, and launched Hear Me Out, a club for sharing and discovering new music. Stage Presence

Our first live event was "Stage Presence," a conversation on how to build world-class live performing musicians. I sat down with physical trainer Jason “RapsTrainer” Lewis, and choreographer & movement director Gigi Todisco for a live convo about their work creating dance routines and physical training plans for musicians. Interactive Listening Parties 

After attending a few listening parties for older albums and feeling like something was missing, I decided to start throwing my own, glorified birthday parties for my favorite albums, but with an interactive twist. As we run through the album, attendees are encouraged to come onstage and share their feelings and memories associated with the album. As the host and moderator, I provide exclusive stories and insight to our audience, via research and interviews with album personnel.

Hear Me Out

Hear Me Out is an in-person music discovery club that de-centers algorithms, and re-centers real human recommendations. Every attendee brings a song to share with the crowd, any genre. The goal is to leave with your taste challenged, and maybe even with a new artist or two to explore.
